PEC Co-Chair Tom Rico covered the press conference prior to the hearing for the commutation of the sentence of Efren Paredes, Jr. The press conference was held Dec. 3, 2008 at the Northstar Center, and the hearing (into which no recording devices were allowed) was held December 4, 2008 at the J. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility in Jackson, Michigan.
